Kinect Enters the Guinness World Record
Microsoft has announced the news of this peripheral device entering the Guinness Book of World Record through its 10 million sales from the time of its launch.
The motion gaming add-on is now the fastest selling electronic device, already sold as many as 10 million units. The Xbox 360 motion sensor has gained the Guinness World Record with its top notch sales and 360 motion sensor. Just within 2 month period of launching the product(Nov 4th – Jan 3rd), 133,333 unites were shifted in total per day making it a big success in the gaming world.
“The sales figures here speak for themselves. According to independent research, no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, which is an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector”, said Gaz Deaves, gaming editor for Guinness World Records.
As per the figures announced today by Microsoft, it was pretty clear that even Nintendo wii took 2 whole years to reach the 10 million sales point. Reports say that yesterday UK retailers have set a new price tag on Kinect for under £100 for the first time spiking the sales to a much faster pace although the sales were incredibly impressive in the Christmas time.
